Uganda Ministry
Uganda Ministry work started in 2003 with Pastor Moses of The Grace Place reaching out to TGOCM for more information about the gospel. From there, a strong connection was built through Christ. Moses eventually came to visit the U.S. in 2016.
Mike Brophy and Felicity Brophy were invited by Pastor Moses to visit and share the gospel with him, his fellowship, and churches in 3 remote villages. This happened in January of 2017. Since that visit more than 50 pastors there inquired of Pastor Moses regarding a bible school by which they could learn the gospel message of the grace of Christ and receive an accreditation. In response, a curriculum was developed by TGOCM for that purpose. In May of 2018 more than 30 pastors traveled to The Grace Place to begin this education process (see the 3 lowest pictures below).
Edification and financial support with the saints at The Grace Place continues through TGOCM. If you are interested in future trips or donations (100% of donations are forwarded), please contact us using the contact page of this website.
In response to the request of a report regarding the Pastor’s School held in May at The Grace Place in South Kampala, Pastor Moses sent the following:
Dear Brother Mike
Christian greetings,
The bible school went on very good, we had 35 people who came to study and we were privileged to speak into their lives. One of the challenges we met was many of these people could not understand English and I had to translated everything to them. Despite that problem, all pastors were so happy and they all confessed that they don’t know the gospel and they need this study to help them learn to preach the gospel. To help most of these people we decided to create an English class and we got a teacher how helped us and net time in August the English teacher will continue with the English class because we found out that its cheap to get a teacher and teach them English than translating every study materials.
This bible school is a great revelation because almost 95% of the people who came to study were ignorant of what they should preach in there pulpits. This is a big challenge to the body of Christ in Uganda and other parts of Africa. These people are devoted to serving God, but due to lack of training they don’t have a message to give to their congregations.
Due to language barrier I has to slow down and too much of repeating myself which was very necessary to help them understand the lessons, we managed to cover up to lesson 4. And according to my observations when they come back in August I will have to repeat afresh because these studies were totally new to them. And our objective is to make them understand such that when they go back they can preach the truth of the gospel.
We are planning to begin our second session in August 20th to September 2nd 2018, and it will take two weeks.
Our gratitude goes to whoever contributed towards this cause. Training pastors in Uganda has been my greatest desire because whenever I visit churches in the villages and I hear what they preach, I cry! In a special way I want to thank you Brother Mike for the effort you are putting in to develop for as a study curriculum. When I taught the pastors, it was not only for academic purposes, but it was a life changing study to those who attended the classes.
Thank you so much for the funds for the building, at first we were planning to build a three roomed structure but we ended up putting a four roomed building and it serve as class rooms for our school and during the holiday it will serve as dormitories for the bible school. Glory be to God.
Yours in a living hope
Pastor Moses
