Your New Life in Christ

Class Introduction

God is the author of life. Man finds his rightful place with God, his creator, the author of life.

Do you feel like you belong in this world, like you fit in with its systems and ways? Or do you feel out of place in it, like there’s something more to life, maybe even much more than what you have discovered? God has made available a specific type of life through the redemptive work of his Son, Jesus Christ. The purpose of this class is to educate people as to this life: what type it is, its characteristics and how to grow in it into increasingly experiencing its abundant fruit in your own life.

God is not far from us. He gives us his promise, “Those who seek me will find me.”

John 20:30-31 ESV “Now Jesus did many other signs in the presence of the disciples, which are not written in this book; but these are written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name.”

The signs which Jesus did were written so that people would believe that he is the Christ, the Son of God, and therefore receive life, a special type of life. This is why Jesus came.

John 10:10 ESV “I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.”

It is available to be born into this type of life:

John 3:1-6 ESV “That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.”

Once we are born into this new type of life we can be educated as to what it is so as to walk in it and all of its provisions:

Romans 6:4b ESV “… as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life.”

1Timothy 6:19b ESV “… so that they may take hold of that which is truly life.”

This class is for those who would like to join us in this adventure of discovering the new life we have in Christ!

If you should choose to host this class we will email you a flyer with your name and phone number as the contact to be sent to whomever you wish. You would provide the location, such as your home or a larger facility. We would provide the coinciding paperwork containing verses and key points of the class. The paperwork is 3-hole punched and fits nicely into a 1/2’” 3-ring binder.

This class is typically taught in 7 or 10 sessions. It can also be taught in a very condensed version of 4 sessions. Each session is within 2 hours with a break.

To host this class call Mike Brophy at (559) 909-1236.

The Book of Romans

Class Introduction

This class is most fitting for those who desire to know the “A-B-C’s” of how to walk in the newness of life which Jesus Christ came to make available. Yet an understanding of Romans is essential for all born again ones to greater realize the new life into which we have entered. What some authorities of Scripture have said regarding the importance of this Book of Romans:

In the Preface to The Letter of St. Paul to the Romans by Martin Luther, 1483-1546, translated by Brother Andrew Thornton, OSB, the first paragraph contains the following:

“This letter is truly the most important piece in the New Testament. It is purest Gospel. It is well worth a Christian’s while not only to memorize it word for word but also to occupy himself with it daily, as though it were the daily bread of the soul. It is impossible to read or to meditate on this letter too much or too well. The more one deals with it, the more precious it becomes and the better it tastes.” “… it is in itself a bright light, almost bright enough to illumine the entire Scripture.” In the second edition of The Church Epistles by E. W. Bullinger on page 23, he wrote regarding Romans, “…until we have mastered its lessons we can know nothing as to our true Christian position; and cannot go forward or learn anything else to our real advantage. All other truth which we may learn will be out of proportion and out of place if it is not subordinated to and dominated by the essential and fundamental truths written in the Epistle to the Romans.” John Calvin wrote, “When anyone gains a knowledge of this epistle he has an entrance opened to him to all the most hidden treasures of Scripture.” John Chrysostom, highly recognized in Christendom in the 3rd Century said, “Romans is unquestionably the fullest, deepest compendium of all sacred foundational truths.” Martin Luther elsewhere said that Romans is “the chief part of the New Testament.”

The Gospel in the Stars

Presentation Introduction

This is a PowerPoint presentation on the ancient message of the gospel as it was written in the stars. You may have heard of the Zodiac and Astrology, but did you know that history tells us that the original Zodiac signs are actually pictures arranged in the stars to tell the age-old story of the coming Christ and what would result from his coming?

Is there a story in the stars? If so, from where did it originate, man or God? Why did so many ancient cultures agree in their nomenclature and descriptions of the constellations and stars? What is “The mystery of the Sphinx?” What is the reason the Sphinx is located in so many star maps of old? The answers to these questions can be uncovered by a study of the stars as they are depicted by ancient cultures. There was a common story seen in the stars. This story appears to have been recognized and accepted among these cultures of antiquity more than any story is commonly known today.

The same main points of God’s plan of redemption which is found in the Scriptures are discovered in the same progressive format in a study of the ancient story in the stars. This is why we subtitled this series:

God’s Plan of Redemption Written in the Stars!

If you should choose to host this series we will email you a flyer with your name and phone number as the contact to be sent to whomever you wish to invite. You would provide the location, such as your home or a larger facility conducive for a PowerPoint presentation. We would provide the outline with references for the series for each attendee.

The Gospel in the Stars is presented in 3 parts. Each part is approximately 1 to 1 ½ hours.

Let us know if we can serve you by presenting The Gospel in the Stars in your area.

To host this class call Mike Brophy at (559) 909-1236.

The Jehovah Titles

The Jehovah Titles as used through the Old Testament declare the characteristics of God in behalf of his people. Some examples are “Jehavah our Provider,” “Jehavah our wholeness,” and “Jehovah our Righteousness.” He provides for his people. He is our wholeness! He is our righteousness! Did you know that every one of the Jehovah Titles, as shown in the Old Testament, is realized for God’s people today through the redemptive work of the Lord Jesus Christ? That’s right! The redemptive work of Jesus Christ caused every one of these Jehovah Title realities to be a reality for us who have believed on Jesus Christ. This class, and series’ like this, have been known to build faith and trust in what God says he is in our behalf.

PONDERABLES

  • God is NOT looking for people who make themselves perfect. He is looking for people who will accept that he made them perfect through the sacrifice of his Son, Jesus Christ.
  • God designed his message of the Cross of Christ to be his power unto us who are in the process of being saved (1 Cor. 1:18). Regarding this same message, Galatians 1:4 declares that Jesus as the Christ sacrificed his life to deliver us from this infectiously evil age. God has much more deliverance available to us than we realize!
  • So many are attempting to bring God down into their way of life, while God has done the redemptive work through his Son, Jesus Christ, to bring us up into His way of life… we are born again, born into a new kind of life, not our old life revamped!
  • Transformation or Perspiration?                             While Romans 12:2 clearly declares that our transformation in Christ results from setting our minds on what is new in Christ (our newness of life resulting from Chris’ts redemptive work), some are misunderstanding that we mature in Christ by climbing the “good works” ladder. The former is by Christ’s work. The latter is by ours. The former is God’s way of transformation. The latter is man’s way by perspiration.
